“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any.”

Jesus brings forgiveness into the prayer closet. That is significant because prayer exposes what we may successfully hide everywhere else. We can sing, serve, work, smile, and function while carrying unresolved offense beneath the surface.

Sometimes forgiveness begins with simply admitting to God, “This still hurts.” We do not have to manufacture an emotion we do not feel. We can bring the wound honestly to God and allow Him to begin the work of releasing us from it.

May today’s declaration remind you that you can bring your unresolved pain into prayer. May God meet you there and begin loosening every offense that has taken up residence in your heart.
