Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”

Sometimes we assume pursuing God’s purpose depends entirely on our own determination. In Philippians 2:13, Paul reminds us that it is God Himself who works within us, giving us both the desire and the ability to accomplish what pleases Him. Even our willingness to obey is evidence of His grace already at work in our lives.

Our August theme, The Grace to Pursue Purpose, reminds us that God’s work begins within us. Before He works through us, He faithfully works in us, shaping our hearts to desire His will.

May today’s declaration assure you that you are not pursuing God’s purpose alone. As you yield to His leading, may His grace continue to shape your desires, strengthen your obedience, and accomplish His good work through you.
