Zechariah 4:6 “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
 
After a week of talking about trust, surrender, availability, and obedience, Zechariah 4:6 brings us back to the source: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit.” Our obedience matters, but we are never responsible for manufacturing what only God can accomplish.
 
This week, GREATER WORKS has challenged us to participate with God without confusing participation with power. We abide. We trust. We surrender. We obey. But the outcome belongs to Him. The Spirit does what human strength cannot.
 
May today’s declaration release you from the pressure to produce results in your own strength. Be faithful with your yes and leave the outcome in God’s hands. Your responsibility is obedience; the power belongs to Him.

Luke 5:4–6 “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught… And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes…”
 
Peter had experience, exhaustion, and an empty net telling him one thing, while Jesus was telling him another. In Luke 5:4–6, obedience required Peter to act beyond what the previous night had taught him to expect. When he responded to Jesus’ instruction, the outcome exceeded his experience.
 
GREATER WORKS calls us beyond surrender into obedience. Sometimes God’s direction will challenge what disappointment, fatigue, expertise, or history has taught us. Faith does not require pretending the previous failure never happened; it chooses to give Jesus the final word anyway.
 
May today’s declaration give you courage to obey again. Do not allow yesterday’s empty net to determine what God can do through today’s surrendered yes. When Jesus directs your next step, trust His word more than your previous outcome.

Isaiah 6:8 “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
 
Availability is one of the most powerful forms of surrender. In Isaiah 6:8, after encountering the holiness and grace of God, Isaiah responds to the Lord’s question with a simple answer: “Here am I; send me.” He does not begin by negotiating the assignment. He makes himself available.
 
As we continue through GREATER WORKS, dependence is becoming trust, and trust is becoming surrender. God does not need us to know everything before we say yes. He looks for hearts willing to be led, voices willing to speak, hands willing to serve, and lives willing to be used.
 
May today’s declaration awaken a fresh yes within you. Offer God your availability without first controlling the assignment. Your willingness may become the doorway through which He accomplishes something far greater than you expected.

Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
 
God’s direction will not always fit neatly within our understanding. In Proverbs 3:5–6, we are instructed to trust Him wholeheartedly rather than lean solely on our own reasoning. Surrender means allowing God to lead even when we cannot yet see how every detail will unfold.
 
Our journey through GREATER WORKS reminds us that greater surrender requires deeper trust. If God only led us where our experience could already explain everything, faith would rarely be necessary. Sometimes His direction stretches us beyond what is familiar so that our dependence shifts from what we know to Who we know.
 
May today’s declaration strengthen your trust in God’s leadership. You do not need the entire map before taking the next obedient step. Acknowledge Him, follow His direction, and trust that He sees the path you cannot yet see.

John 15:4–5 “Abide in me, and I in you… for without me ye can do nothing.”
 
Before Jesus speaks about fruitfulness, He speaks about abiding. In John 15:4–5, He makes the relationship clear: branches bear fruit by remaining connected to the vine. Greater works do not begin with greater activity; they begin with deeper dependence on Christ.
 
As we’ve been exploring GREATER WORKS, we’re discovering that God’s power calls for our participation. But our first response is not to rush into action. It is to remain in Christ—to listen, receive, trust, and allow His life to flow through ours.
 
May today’s declaration draw you into deeper fellowship with Jesus. Resist the pressure to produce what only abiding can bear. Before you ask what you should accomplish today, ask how closely you are remaining connected to the One from whom every fruitful work flows.

Ephesians 3:16–20 “That he would grant you… to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man… Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
 
God strengthens us from the inside out. In Ephesians 3:16–20, Paul prays that believers would be strengthened by the Spirit in the inner person and then declares that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond what we ask or imagine, according to the power working within us.
 
This week, GREATER WORKS has brought our attention inward. God works in us, renews our thinking, transforms our character, prunes what hinders us, and strengthens us by His Spirit. The greater work within is preparation for the greater work ahead.
 
May today’s declaration expand your expectation of what God can accomplish in a surrendered life. Trust the power working within you—not as a reason for self-confidence, but as an invitation to deeper dependence on God. What He wants to do next may exceed what you have imagined.

John 15:2 “Every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”
 
Fruitfulness does not exempt us from pruning. In John 15:2, Jesus explains that even fruitful branches are pruned so they can produce more fruit. God’s pruning is not rejection; it is intentional preparation. Sometimes the next season requires releasing what once occupied our time, attention, energy, or affection.
 
As we continue exploring GREATER WORKS, we are learning that God’s work within us may involve both addition and removal. He strengthens what should remain and lovingly cuts away what hinders greater fruitfulness. What feels uncomfortable may actually be evidence of His careful preparation.
 
May today’s declaration give you grace to cooperate with God’s pruning. Ask Him what needs to be released, reordered, or surrendered. Trust the hands of the Gardener. If He is removing something, He may be making room for fruit you cannot yet see.

2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all… are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
 
God’s greatest interest is not simply making us more productive—He is making us more like Christ. In 2 Corinthians 3:18, Paul describes the Spirit’s ongoing work of transforming believers into the image of the Lord “from glory to glory.” Spiritual growth is not merely measured by what we accomplish but by who we are becoming.
 
Our journey through GREATER WORKS reminds us that outward impact should flow from inward transformation. Before asking for greater influence, greater opportunity, or greater responsibility, we can welcome the Spirit’s work in our character—our love, humility, patience, integrity, compassion, and obedience.
 
May today’s declaration deepen your desire to become more like Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit work beyond your gifts and abilities and into the deepest places of your character. One of the greatest works He will ever accomplish is forming the likeness of Christ within you.

OUR TIMES ARE IN GOD’S HANDS.“My times are in thy hand…” — Psalm 31:15 (KJV)
Some stories are built quickly. Others are pruned, prepared, covered, and cultivated by God over time. Ours has been a 12-year love story of surrender, healing, preparation, and obedience.
In January 2014, Declare Victory was born. I was Dion Jackson then—today, Pastor Dionne S. Goree—and so much has changed.
In those early days, we gathered seven days a week, sometimes praying and interceding well into the afternoon. We prayed for nations. We walked with people through healing, old trauma, historical hurts, pain, salvation, and the assurance of their faith. Together, we learned the heart of the Father and learned how to remain faithful through painful seasons.
Then God saw fit to send me a covering and a partner for the work. ❤️
For the last three and a half years, my husband, Pastor Royce S. Goree, and I have been marrying ministry, strengthening the foundation and preparing for what was ahead. I am grateful for the mantle he carries as pastor, leader, and administrator for Declare Victory—and now Victorious Church.
We didn't want to hurry.We didn't want to get ahead of God.We weren't trying to impress people.
We wanted to be prepared.

Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
 
Transformation often begins with the way we think. In Romans 12:2, Paul teaches that renewal of the mind enables us to discern what is good, acceptable, and pleasing to God. Old assumptions, fears, habits, and patterns of thinking can keep us responding to new opportunities with yesterday’s limitations.
 
As we explore the greater work God desires to do within us, we are reminded that He does not merely change our circumstances—He transforms our perspective. The Holy Spirit renews our minds so that we can recognize God’s will, respond with faith, and see possibilities through the lens of His truth rather than our limitations.
 
May today’s declaration invite God into the way you think. Ask Him to expose thoughts that no longer agree with His Word and replace them with truth. Greater works require more than new opportunities; they require minds increasingly surrendered to God.

Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
 
Before we become consumed with what God wants to accomplish through us, we should recognize what He is already accomplishing within us. In Philippians 2:13, Paul reminds us that God is at work in us—shaping both our desires and our ability to respond according to His good pleasure. Even our willingness to obey can be evidence of His grace working beneath the surface.
 
As we continue our October theme, GREATER WORKS, we’re turning our attention inward. Before God does a greater work through us, His Spirit is already doing a transforming work within us. He changes desires, confronts resistance, strengthens willingness, and prepares our hearts for what He wants to do next.
 
May today’s declaration help you surrender to God’s internal work. Instead of beginning with, “What can I do for God?” ask, “Lord, what are You doing in me?” Trust that the One preparing the assignment is also preparing you.

Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”
 
Jesus never promised greater works without also providing the power necessary to accomplish them. In Acts 1:8, He tells His disciples that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them and that this power will enable them to become His witnesses. The assignment was greater than their natural ability, but they were never expected to fulfill it alone.
 
As we begin our journey through GREATER WORKS, we are reminded that the promise of greater works was never an invitation to greater self-reliance. The Holy Spirit is our source. He empowers our witness, directs our steps, strengthens our obedience, and enables us to participate in what God is doing.
 
May today’s declaration move you from striving to dependence. Ask the Holy Spirit to make you increasingly aware of His presence and responsive to His leading. Before we consider what God wants to accomplish through us, let us first yield to the power He has already placed within us.

John 14:12“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
Welcome to a new month—a fresh opportunity to expect God to move beyond what we can accomplish in our own strength. Jesus declared that those who believe in Him would do greater works. This is not an invitation to strive harder; it is a call to recognize the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit already at work within us.
This month, become increasingly aware of what you carry. The same Spirit who empowers, leads, comforts, reveals, and transforms lives in you. When we surrender our plans, gifts, voices, hands, and ordinary moments to Him, God can accomplish extraordinary things through ordinary people.
Let this be a supernatural month—a month of greater faith, greater obedience, greater discernment, and greater works. Expect God to stretch your capacity, sharpen your spiritual sensitivity, and use you in ways that point people directly to Jesus.
May today’s declaration awaken you to the power working within you. You are not entering this month depending solely on your ability—you are entering empowered by the Holy Spirit. Greater works are possible because greater power is present.

Colossians 3:12–14“Put on therefore… kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another… and above all these things put on charity.”
We began this month by receiving forgiveness. We have considered the courage required to forgive ourselves, the grace required to forgive others, and the wisdom required to release offense without abandoning discernment. Now we arrive at the heart of it all: forgiveness is meant to become a way of life.
Paul describes forgiveness alongside compassion, kindness, humility, patience, and love. That means forgiveness is not merely something we do when someone hurts us. It becomes part of who we are as people who have been transformed by grace. The gift we received becomes the character we carry.
May today’s declaration remind you that you are a forgiven person called to live free. May the grace you have received become the grace you extend, and may your life continually testify that forgiveness is not merely something God gives us—it is something He uses to transform us.

Colossians 3:13“Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”
Paul gives us the standard for forgiveness: Christ. That changes the question. Instead of asking, “Do they deserve forgiveness?” we begin asking, “What did Christ give me when I did not deserve it?”
Forgiveness becomes easier to understand when we remember that we are not forgiving from a position of superiority. We are forgiven people learning how to forgive. The mercy we extend flows from the mercy we have received.
May today’s declaration remind you to forgive from the overflow of grace. May the forgiveness you have received from Christ become the strength you need to extend forgiveness to others.
